The Many Talents of Honey Mustard
Honey mustard is one of those simple yet utterly delighftul condiments that seems to create its very own flavor with just a few simple ingredients. Once you’ve made your own honey mustard for this recipe, here are some other ways to use it. In addition to the usual dipping sauce for favorites like pretzels or chicken nuggets, use honey mustard for:
- Salad Dressing: Mix honey mustard with some olive oil and a bit of apple cider vinegar for a sweet and tangy salad dressing.
- Roasted Vegetables: Toss Brussels sprouts, carrots, or potatoes in honey mustard before roasting for a sweet and savory flavor.
- Grilled Foods: Use it as a glaze when grilling vegetables, chicken, or fish. (Be sure to brush it on near the end of grilling to prevent it from burning.)
- Sandwich Spread: Elevate your ham or turkey sandwiches by using honey mustard as a spread. It pairs quite well with cheese too!
- Pizza Topping: Use it as a base sauce on a pizza instead of traditional tomato sauce. Top with chicken, bacon, and heaping portion of cheese.
- Dipping Sauce: Okay, we do have to mention some other dipping options. Honey mustard can be used for dipping vegetables, egg rolls, or even as an alternative to cocktail sauce for shrimp!
- Baked Brie Topping: Love baked brie? You’re about to love it even more. Drizzle honey mustard over a wheel of brie before baking for a sweet, tangy, and creamy appetizer.
- Pasta Salad Dressing: Mix a little honey mustard into pasta salads for a unique flavor twist.
- Bread Dipping Sauce: Okay, one more dipping idea. Simply mix it with a bit of olive oil and use it as a bread dip.
